The Grand Lady pairs an 1881 mansion with a modern reception hall, two courtyards and a cut flower garden, all on one private property outside Austin. The house gives us real rooms to film in before the ceremony, and the hall gives us a clean, bright room for the party.

The mansion before the ceremony
The mansion is where the morning happens. The bridal suite holds hair and makeup, and the kitchen and dining room are there for lunch. On one August day the first look with dad happened upstairs, with only mom and sister in the room. The staircase, porches and front steps all make natural portrait spots without leaving the house.
Later in the day the house becomes a refuge. Couples we filmed used it for a private dinner moment in the dining room, for appetizers away from the crowd, and for portraits inside while guests found their seats. Vendor meals were boxed and set on the dining room table on one night.

Ceremony and the garden
The venue says ceremonies can happen anywhere on the property, from the garden to the front lawn to under the oaks, and it has a retractable rain awning for weather. A November couple did their first look and private vows in the flower garden at 3:20, then portraits before a 4:30 ceremony.
If you want the garden for anything, put it before the ceremony on a short fall day. That November sunset was 5:33.

Cocktail hour, the hall and the exit
Cocktail hour runs in the courtyards. One August couple used the brick courtyard, with the seating chart tied to a tree by the reception hall door, cornhole on the side, and a sneak peek of the reception hall for just the two of them before doors opened.
The reception hall is 3,600 square feet. Inside, we have filmed a 16 by 20 foot dance floor under paper lanterns, a DJ collective, and a sax and trumpet duo leading the grand entrance. For that couple's exit at 11:00 PM, guests lined the courtyard path facing the mansion with sparklers, and the venue provided a bucket for the spent sticks.
Getting there
Most of our couples here had guests staying at hotels in town. Two ran charter shuttles from the Austin Marriott, one with a stop on 6th Street at the end of the night. Another used Fetii vans for guests after a 10:30 send off. One bridal party got ready off site and allowed 30 minutes to drive in. Book transportation early and give it real buffer time in the timeline.
