The Arlo sits on Signal Hill Road at the southwest edge of Austin, ten minutes from Dripping Springs. We filmed a sangeet here the night before an Indian wedding, with 246 guests, food stations, henna artists and a long run of family dances. It is a modern building with a lot of glass, which makes it an easy room to light and a busy one to plan.

How the spaces were used
The Ballroom held the reception: fifteen rounds of ten, cocktail tables, two bars and the DJ. The planner's layout put the food stations in the smaller indoor hall the venue calls Storie Hall, its indoor ceremony room. Outside, the fireplace area on the Lawn carried cocktail tables, a lounge set, the sign in table and three henna tables.
The venue's own numbers: the Ballroom is 4,600 square feet with picture windows on three sides, Storie Hall seats up to 200 for a ceremony, and the Lawn has a gas fireplace that gets switched on as guests arrive. It was on for our 5:30 PM start.

Getting ready on site
The bride arrived at 2:30 PM, and her mother, aunt and sister were dressed and draped by a dressing artist before hair and makeup started at 2:45. She stepped into her outfit at 4:00. The groom and immediate family arrived at 5:00, which is when photo coverage started.
There are two getting ready spaces. The Lounge is inside the main building with a beauty bar, two dressing rooms and a coded lock. The Cottage is a separate building with two full bathrooms and a kitchen, so the two sides can stay apart until they choose not to.

Shuttles and parking
Plan the buses carefully. Two 49 passenger buses brought guests from a north Austin hotel, leaving by 4:20 PM. They do not fit in the valet area, so drivers dropped guests at the back of the parking lot and everyone walked up to the front. The buses stayed parked in the lot all night and loaded at the far end of the lot at 11:00 PM.
The venue has about 120 parking spaces and recommends third party transportation for larger groups. Overnight parking is not allowed.
Sound, dances and the end of the night
The organized dances started at 8:00 PM and ran 30 to 45 minutes: each side of the family, the bridesmaids, the groomsmen, cousins, brothers, the mothers, then the couple's own performance ending with the whole family. For video that block is the heart of a sangeet, so we set audio and angles before it rather than during it.
Open dancing followed at 8:30, last call was 10:15, the bar closed at 10:30, the event ended at 11:00 and vendors were out by midnight.
- The venue hosts one event per day.
- A third party planner is required; the venue does not run timelines.
- All load in and breakdown happen on the event day, within contracted hours.
